Core Beliefs
The following are the core beliefs of Plymouth Missionary Church based on the foundational truths taught in the bible. All of our teaching and ministry is rooted in and flows out of these biblical doctrines.
God
There is one eternally existing God who has three distinct persons: God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Spirit. He is the creator and sustainer of all that exists, both visible and invisible,.
Humanity
We believe that because of sin, our relationship with God and others is broken. We are in need of reconciliation, which comes through the work of Jesus Christ on the cross and the power of his resurrection
Salvation
Jesus Christ came to reconcile us with God. He lived a life without sin and willingly died on the cross to pay the penalty for our transgressions. Salvation is a result of genuine repentance of sin and faith in the atoning work of Christ.
The Church
We believe the church is God's light and messenger of hope in this world. All followers ofJesus Christ should be connected to a local body for personal and corporate life and growth
Growth
We believe that growth is the natural process in the life of a follower of Jesus. Just as children grow physically, emotionally and mentally, so should a follower ofJesus. This process of growth can also be called discipleship. Where we follow Jesus and are transformed by Jesus
Scripture
We believe that the bible, consisting of 66 books, of the Old and New testaments, is the word of God given by divine inspiration and is inerrant in the original manuscripts. The Bible remains the unchanging authority in matters of Christian faith and practice
Baptism
We Believe that followers of Jesus Christ have been commanded to follow the example of Jesus in water baptism. We practice baptism by immersion as the public declaration of a personal decision to follow Jesus. For more information about baptism please contact us.
